About the site

Samknows.com is dedicated to tracking the roll out and progress of broadband across the UK. We provide detailed information on the coverage of nearly every broadband network operator in the country.

The site was created by myself, Sam Crawford, in 2003 to help provide broadband campaigners with the information they needed to bring broadband to their area. Fast forward five years and both the website and the broadband market have changed significantly. We now focus on providing the latest and most detailed information about broadband availability across all providers.

Samknows.com is the central point for information regarding broadband availability in the UK. In 2008 we launched the Performance Monitoring Network - a solution for benchmarking performance of ISPs.

We also offer a series of web services that are used by many other broadband related websites to enhance the service they provide to their users. The most popular web service in use is the Availability Checker API, which is now utilised by over 150 websites. You can read more about here.

Whilst we try to ensure that we have the most accurate and up to date information available on the website, errors do occur from time to time, so please get in touch if you spot anything glaringly wrong! You may wish to have a read of the Frequently Asked Questions first though.
