BT Bundles Emerge
BT has launched bundles of services following relaxation of constraints by OFCOM. Business and Residential bundles are offered, typically with 12, 18 or 24 month contracts and featuring various combinations of broadband, voice calls, line rental, TV and mobile services.
As an example an entry level home broadband service is discounted to £0 per month for the first three months when combined with line rental, compared to the initial discount to £7.78 if the broadband is taken on its own (18 month contract in both cases).
There are still many ISPs offering 1 month contracts and there are phone call services that don’t have BT’s 8p per call connection charge so potential customers need to do their homework before getting tied into long contracts for modest discounts.
Update: Today sees BT entering the mobile broadband market with BT Mobile Broadband Pre-Pay providing access to Vodafone’s 3G network for a £49.99 dongle charge when combined with BT Total Broadband, or £129.99 purchased separately. This provides 1 GB per month of inclusive use for the 18 month contract, additional usage allowance costs £10 per 1GB or £20 for 3GB and is valid for 30 days with no rollover.

have tried to sign up as an existing BT Broadband customer and their call centre staff aren’t yet allowed to sell this. tried online and ‘computer said no’.. it said i already had it… Did some more research and i think this is only for new customers… but of course, you have to be an existing customer to actually purchase it online (rather than a cold call to their call centre who aren’t yet trained to sell it).
Talk about Catch 22 – nice one BT!!

it is not that the call centre advisors are not trained in the deal. it is a exclusive btr.com offer for new customers.
