BT FTTC Locations Mapped

23 Mar 2009 | 21.51 Europe/London
The Guardian has published a map of BT's initial Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) locations. This follows on from the media stories over the last few days about various regional cities getting "superfast" broadband.

With electronics mounted in or close to kerbside cabinets the length of the twisted pair loop will be reduced and speeds of up to 40M downstream and up to 10M upstream will be on offer. As always those closest to the cabinet with the simplest home wiring will see the best speeds.

In typical Grauniad style the Glasgow exchanges appear to be mapped as somewhere in the USA.
