The 37 exchanges singled out as a part of this list is basically

Update on copper overlay in TPON areas

11:21 pm - March 22nd, 2004 by Sam

With the focus of the UK broadband industry currently fixated on getting more areas enabled, it is all too easy to forget about those who cannot received service from an already enabled exchange.
One of the reasons that you might not be able to receive broadband ADSL on your line is because you may have a

London LLU coverage maps

01:27 am - March 22nd, 2004 by Sam

Following the recent introduction of the HomeChoice LLU service in London, Paul and myself thought it would be a good idea to produce some maps showing LLU coverage in London. Many people now believe that LLU services are what will drive the UK broadband market forwards, and we naturally look to London as being the

RFS Dates at last!

05:09 pm - March 18th, 2004 by Sam

The greatly anticipated RFS dates have at last arrived. With 89 dates in total, this is a reasonably large list. However, we must take into account that this is infact a list for 2 weeks, which averages to 45.5 dates per week, which is nowhere near the current average of 70 exchanges triggering per week.

More ONE North East RFS dates

10:50 am - March 18th, 2004 by Sam

According to vote4broadband, 67 new RFS dates have been released. These all seem to be for the ONE North East scheme though, so don’t fret - the ones you’re all waiting for are still on their way.
Interestingly enough, quite a few of those dates have had their RFS dates moved forward. Rothbury, for example, was

The drought continues…

01:28 pm - March 16th, 2004 by Sam

I’ve had a lot of emails asking about RFS dates, and I’m afraid there’s still no news. I’ve just had a look on the BT message boards, and the mood there is of extreme frustration.
The rumour is that this weeks (should that be last weeks? ) list will be very large. Well, at

Dude, where’s my RFS date?

02:45 pm - March 13th, 2004 by Sam

This morning Cuckoo Oak triggered and took the number of exchanges waiting for a firm RFS date to 400. Having not received any RFS dates this week, and only 25 last week, many campaigners are becoming increasingly frustrated at the ever lengthening delays. The fact that the regular announcement day (Wednesday) is frequently missed does

Tiscali launch Pay-as-you-go broadband ADSL

01:29 am - March 11th, 2004 by Sam

BT Retail received a lot of criticism last week when it announced its new “Broadband Basic” package for £19.99 per month, with a 1GB download limit attached. They even managed to annoy Tiscali with an advert about Tiscali’s 150K “broadband” services.
Not to be outdone though, Tiscali have announced that they too will be launching a

07:15 pm - March 10th, 2004 by Sam

With only the never ending introduction of low-bandwith broadband connections to keep us amused, the past week has been pretty slow for news.
That said, the following snippets of news may interest some of you…
Firstly, there’s no news on this weeks RFS dates yet. I haven’t heard anything about them being delayed, so it’s still reasonable
