Unfortunately for the residents of Great Smeaton, a backhaul cabling shortage has meant that their RFS date has been delayed. The date was originally set for the 24th September 2004, but has subsequently been delayed until the 24th of November.

To check if you can now receive broadband, enter your telephone number into the BT.com checker. Alternatively, you can use our own checker, which has been updated for the change in limits too.

Tomorrow is the day that the new ADSL limits are put in to effect, allowing a further 1 million people to be able to access ADSL broadband.
However, a number of people have been in touch to ask exactly when the limits will take effect, and contrary to what many believe, it is not midnight tonight.

With BT’s busiest exchange-enabling month now behind us, we should see a decline in the number of delays occuring. However, this will be of little consolation for the residents of Abbots Bromley and Manaccan.
Manaccan, which originally had a RFS date of 1st September 2004, has now been issued a new date of 8th December 2004.
