Entanet announce their 21CN trial to resellers
Entanet are to begin trialling their 21CN product set on a series of exchanges in the Birmingham area. Up to 250 users from the three participating ISPs (Entanet is the only non-BT ISP in the trial) will be connected to the network running off the back of the new WBC (Wholesale Broadband Connect) product.
The exchanges involved in the trials are as follows:
| Stechford (CMSTE) | Halesowen (CMHALE) |
| Sheldon (CMSHEL) | Woodgate (CMWDGT) |
| Castle Bromwich (CMCAS) | Chelmsley Wood (CMCHEL) |
| Burntwood (CMBNW) | Edgbaston (CMEDG) |
| Victoria (CMVIC) | Central (CMCEN) |
According to this thread, the deadline for applications is this Friday (19th October). So if you’re an Entanet customer (either directly or via one of their many resellers) and want to get involved, then get in touch with them as soon as possible!
This trial is most likely the “Stage 2″ trial being discussed on this ThinkBroadband.com BBS thread. This follows BT’s normal pattern of trialling new products in mid-sized cities well outside of London. It is likely that the “Stage 3″ trial, involving up to 10 ISPs, will be available nationwide.
Update: Apologies for incorrectly implying that Merula were an Entanet reseller. The closing date for applications has now been extended to the 2nd November.
