Fast broadband: 1GB boosts come to Bournemouth
01 Mar 2010 | 15.57 Europe/London
The fastest home and business boost speed has just been launched in Bournemouth where fibre customers are being offered a 100Mb connection with up to 10 one hour 1Gb ‘boosts’ per month.
Following fibre to the home (FTTH) work in Bournemouth last year by Fibrecity (known at the time as H2O because it lays much of its fibre in sewers), three ISPs (Velocity1, Fibreband and Vispa) have announced fibre services for the city.
Perhaps the most eye-catching of the 100Mb deals comes from Velocity1 which has two bundles which each allow a ‘boost’ button to pressed on the company’s portal, allowing the broadband users to boost their speed from the normal 100Mb fire service to up to 1Gb for an hour. The main difference between the £9.99 and £19.99 per month connection bundles is the latter comes with 40 television and radio stations which can be boosted to more than 80 channels for £29.99 per month.
Both packages offer free evening and weekend calls.
