Fibre broadband service coming from Bouygues Telecom

29 Sep 2010 | 09.17 Europe/London
Bouygues Telecom is believed to be planning the launch of a 100Mb fibre broadband service next month.

The move will place the company, best known for its mobile phone network in France, in direct competition with France Telecom, SFR and Iliad for high speed fibre connections.

The company has been testing a 100Mbp/s service over the past few months and is now believed to consider it ready for commercial launch.

The service is based on the Bouygues Telecom’s own fibre infrastructure as well as capacity leased from third parties.
