Further RFS date changes

BT Wholesale have today announced a further six Ready For Service date improvements. One of particular interest (partly because it is very local to me) is the Bucklers Hard exchange. This previously “unviable” exchange has now had all of its equipment moved to the neighbouring Beaulieu exchange. Considering the proximity of the two exchanges, it is unlikely that any additional line reach problems will come into play.

With that said, on to the six improved dates…

Exchange Old RFS date New RFS date
Winchcombe 27/07/2005 10/11/2004
Bucklers Hard Unviable 24/11/2004
Petworth 09/01/2005 20/10/2004
Great Bardfield 27/04/2005 20/10/2004
Pluckley 18/05/2005 20/10/2004
East Meon 01/12/2005 20/10/2004

However, we can’t all be so lucky, and unfortunately Claverdon has suffered its second delay in as many weeks. Originally set to be enabled on the 22nd of September, it was pushed back to 1st of October due to ducting blockages, but has now had to be revised to the 21st of October.

But wait, there’s more RFS dates to go! As a part of the Cumbria Broadband Intiative’s plan to enable all of Cumbria, Your Communications are upgrading 14 exchanges for ADSL (please note that this is not LLU!). The RFS dates for the 14 previously unviable exchanges are listed below.

Exchange RFS date
Buttermere 17/11/2004
Grayrigg 17/11/2004
Ravensworth 17/11/2004
Selside 17/11/2004

Borrowdale 23/03/2005
Satterthwaite 23/03/2005
Armathwaite 11/05/2005

Nicholforest 23/03/2005

Finally, you may notice that I’ve been making a few small changes here and there (mostly the exchange pages for now). Again, I must apologise to everyone in the Republic of Ireland - I have not yet found a decent vector map of the UK that includes you yet! (If anyone from Ordnance Survey is reading, I’d love to speak to you!). I do plan on introducing more (interesting) changes in the near future as well. However, I’m going to have very limited internet access for the next couple of weeks, so if you email me and don’t get a response within a few hours, that will be the reason why!
