Mobile broadband service launched by TalkTalk
02 Nov 2010 | 14.49 Europe/London
TalkTalk has entered the mobile broadband market today with its first mobile phone addition to its fixed broadband and phone line services.
The ISP is launching two packages, Mobile Essentials at £10 per month and Mobile Plus for £30 a month. The former offers £10 worth of credit for calls, texting and data per month, while the latter offers unlimited calls subject to a fair use policy.
Data on Mobile Essentials costs either £1 or 50p per day, depending on whether it is bundled with another TalkTalk service and is capped at 25Mb of data per day.
Mobile Plus charges 75p per day for access to data with a cap of 150Mb per month.
Both packages are SIM only, so a user will need to already have a mobile phone handset, and both are available on one month rolling contracts.
For existing broadband TalkTalk customers with a laptop that feel the need for a higher monthly data allowance, the ISP has also launched today a mobile broadband service which offers 1Gb of data per month, via a laptop dongle (£29.99).
