TalkTalk: mobile broadband has peaked

The UK’s biggest residential ISP has just posted it’s first trading statement since it acquired its former rival Tiscali. And despite its newest brand losing over sixty thousand customers in period in question, the TalkTalk Group has declared a “stronger than expected quarter for customer growth.” However, its forecast for mobile broadband isn’t so positive.

8.1 million people don’t know their limits

Millions of broadband users don’t know their download limits and, according to new research, the number is increasing. According to the study, compiled by YouGov, around 6.7 million people could be violating so-called “Fair Usage Policies” by unknowingly exceeding bandwidth allowances on Internet packages that have been marketed as providing “unlimited” downloads.

AOL launches new pricing based upon LLU availability

AOL UK have today launched new pricing for their broadband services. The new pricing raises the cost of AOL broadband on non-LLU exchanges, and keeps the cost the same for AOL unbundled exchanges.
