BT have today announced that they have signed the remaining four contracts for suppliers for the 21st Century Network rollout. Rather unsurprisingly, Alcatel, Cisco, Ericsson and Fujitsu are the four additional prefered suppliers that now join the existing list of Ciena, Huawei, Lucent and Siemens.

These exchanges will be immediately included in the current high speed trials which are taking place right now with participating ISP’s. Fusion Media Networks have today announced their line of products built upon the IPStream Max product from BT Wholesale. On exchanges where ADSL Max is available, home users will be able to purchase 8Mbps broadband (with 448Kbps upstream) for £29.99 +VAT per month. Business users will be offered 8Mbps broadband with 832Kbps upstream for £54.99

From the 1st September 2005, BT Wholesale will be reducing the charges made for new ADSL provisions. Quite a few ISPs do not charge this, as they spread the cost over a 12-month period.
For ‘home’ (50:1 contention) and ‘office’ (20:1 contention) these have been reduced from £50 to £40. SDSL has been reduced from £260

BT Wholesale announced yesterday that they would be bringing SDSL to a further 500 exchanges across the UK over the next eight months. This will take their symmetric coverage to 800 exchanges.

BT Wholesale have announced a further 76 SDSL RFS dates, meaning that by the end of March next year, there will be 300 BT SDSL enabled exchanges in the UK.
These 300 exchanges were announced long before the recent announcement of 1000 new SDSL exchanges, and is entirely seperate.

BT today announced that they will rollout SDSL to a further 1000 exchanges
in two batches of 500. The first batch is due to be announced end of January 2005 the second batch by August 2005.

BT Wholesale have announced six more SDSL ready for service dates. Cricklewood, Edinburgh Donaldson, Feltham, Southend, Stafford and Staines will all be able to receive BT Wholesale provided SDSL products by November 30th.

With BT’s busiest exchange-enabling month now behind us, we should see a decline in the number of delays occuring. However, this will be of little consolation for the residents of Abbots Bromley and Manaccan.
Manaccan, which originally had a RFS date of 1st September 2004, has now been issued a new date of 8th December 2004.

BT Wholesale have this morning announced the official results of their extended reach trials, which are being conducted in Milton Keynes, Fort William and Dingwall in Scotland.

The notification to Ofcom confirms pricing details first revealed back in April.
