Be Unlimited (commonly referred to as just "Be") offer ADSL2+ services via some 832 LLU
exchanges. Be have proven popular amongst the
enthusiast market, with their very high speeds and no fixed usage caps (although a fair usage policy does
apply).
Keen to keep up with other mobile and TV operators expanding in to the broadband market, O2 purchased Be for £50m
in June 2006.
In late 2007 O2 finally released their broadband product to the market. The O2 broadband product operates on
top of the Be LLU network
and offers headline speeds of up to 20Mbps.
In 2008 O2 launched a new broadband product that operates at up to 8Mbps and uses BT Wholesale's IPStream network. This
is marketed and sold in areas where they do not have LLU coverage.
